Scientific Secret of Vodka ??
Well, today I was serfing the ScienceNews Magazine online and I found an interesting article by Rachel Ehrenberg. I usually do not continue reading an article even before I read up to the half but yesterday, my dad asked me to buy the Belvedere Vodka, (I liked it because the bottle was all white as I like white color, not becuase I loved the taste..; p )
so I sort of happen to read them all. Oh! and it was a short article compared to other science articles...haha... Anyway, about the article, it tells that the molecular structure differences in different vodkas from different brands may influence the tastes. I was like...haha..... what the hxxx? I really don't like to drink any kind of alcohol, of course including vodka, so I did not even know that there was taste differences for those all different brands' vodkas!! In any case, according to Schaefer and colleagues from Cincinati and Russia insists that, in water-ethanol solution, the water forms cagelike structures and" The team attributed those differences to the proportion of ethanol molecules that are trapped in a cage of water." In addition, Belvedere and Oval appear to have more of this caged ethanol than other brands do. I guess my dad knew it already!!!! or not................................................
This was really interesting to me because... I mean.. Water! wAter! waTer! watEr! wateR! you little water! I thought I know all about you WATER! I guess we still have a lot to learn about water! That's what makes the science fascinating ! : )
